You must have a ticket in order to enter at the base of the arch.
New for 2018: a ticketing booth will be at the base of the arch, weather permitting.
However, since it's Memorial Day weekend--recommend getting tickets before going via the web or on the phone to make sure tickets are not sold out before arriving.
Security: The arch does have security screening at the entrance. You may have to wait in line to get inside. Click here for security information. If you bring less stuff, you will get through security more quickly.
You should arrive 45 minutes before your tram ticket (ticket-to-the-top) time to allow time to wait in line for security screening. If you don't get in line in time for your ride to the top, you will not be able to go up.
Documentary movie is shown continuously and there are no reservations for entry. Viewing contingent on space availability.
